Since 2021 we’ve saved 33,050 pounds of glass from the landfill and raised over $19,700 for Seeley Lake schools.

  • All colors of clean, Food Grade glass

  • Glass with labels

Glass that Recycling Works CANNOT accept:

  • Glass with residue - please remove food and lids

  • Other glass - windows, light bulbs, pyrex, etc

July 2024: 3,500 pounds of glass recycled and $3,002 donated to SSHS (including $1500 match from CHH)

April 2024: Over 4,500 pounds of glass recycled and $3,124 donated to SLE (including $1500 match from CHH)

October 2023: Over 4,200 pounds of glass recycled and $2,369 donated to SSHS (including the $1k match from CHH)

July 2023: Over 3,200 pounds of glass recycled and $2,563 donated to SLE (including $1,200 match from CHH)

April 2023: Over 3,000 pounds recycled and over $2,000 donated to SSHS (including the $1k match from CHH)

September 2022: Over 5,000 pounds of glass recycled and over $1,000 donated to SLE


How did this program come to be?

In 2021, the Seeley Lake Community Foundation awarded a SLCF Community Grant to Recycling Works to do a year-long pilot project for glass recycling in Seeley Lake. This grant-funded project was so popular, we’ve created a partnership with RW to continue this service for our community! In 2023, the SLCF approached local non-profit Charlie’s Helping Hands about doubling community member donations, to grow the impact for local kids and schools.

Since 2021, Recycling Works, the Seeley Lake Community Foundation, Charlie’s Helping Hands, and the Seeley Lake community together have: 

  • Donated: $19,796 to local public schools

  • Recycled: 33,050 pounds of glass

What a partnership!

  • Charlie’s Helping Hands is a local non-profit rooted in assisting the children of Seeley Lake and surrounding area with their various needs.

  • The Seeley Lake Community Foundation engages philanthropy, provides leadership, and enhances the quality of life and economic vitality of the Seeley Lake, MT area.

A community foundation gathers resources for its local area. The SLCF is proud to help gather funding and service providers, and help ‘connect the dots’ to bring programs to Seeley Lake residents. And, local schools will benefit. It’s a win-win-win!
